Meet Our Founder and CEO
Lauren founded Project Mockingbird with a vision of building a social impact communications agency to champion global systemic change. Having begun her career in public affairs, Lauren is a steadfast proponent of leveraging strategic communications to advance brands and critical social issues. Through her 20+ years of work with Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits and advocacy organizations, she has demonstrated firsthand the power of using a brand’s unique voice in successfully driving much needed social change. Over the years and in a variety of roles she has represented clients such as the Environmental Defense Fund, Hewlett Packard, the Help America Vote Act, Children’s Health, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Zirtue, Momentous Institute and Match Group.
She has been named a U.S. Champion of PR by PRWeek for her advocacy for women in the industry and as a change agent in her community. She was named a Dallas 500 winner by D CEO and 40 under 40 honoree by the Dallas Business Journal. In 2023, Lauren was proud to announce that Project Mockingbird was named to Inc. Magazine’s prominent Best Workplaces list.
Lauren currently serves as a member of the board of directors executive committee for The Family Place and is an active member and former co-chair of Annie’s List. Lauren is also a member of Entrepreneur's Organization (EO) and serves on the Dallas County District Attorney’s Task Force. She is most passionate about furthering the economic empowerment and equality of women and under-resourced Americans.
Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Political Science and a Masters in Public Affairs; and is a graduate of the Women’s Campaign School fellowship program at Yale University. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters and three dogs.
